Once you validate 70% of the Embedded Piscine and complete your Common Core, you unlock access to the electronic bootcamp, and through it to the electronic module.
These are projects that take place during fixed time slots, twice a year. A bootcamp is usually organized a week after the end of the embedded piscine, and the electronic module starts right at the end of the bootcamp.
The bootcamp will complete your skillset so you can build a complete electronic product from scratch. It will teach you how to design embedded circuits, as well as how to solder them.
The pace is less intense than the piscine, but it still requires a solid commitment over the course of the 2 weeks.
If you plan on doing the Module, you will be expected to start brainstorming the project you'd like to work on, and to start scouting for your future teammates among the bootcamp participants. Don’t hesitate to share your ideas, in the Lab or on the Discord : This is how you will get feedback and refine your project.
The Module is an open-ended project done in groups of 3 to 5 people. You need to have completed both the embedded piscine and the bootcamp to access the project.
It is an intense and demanding project that requires consistent full-time work over 5 months. You will be given a set of technical constraints right when you start. We will also provide deadlines that you must meet for the various stages of your project design (see the calendar below).
While not an exhaustive list, you will be required to write a technical specification sheet, create a bill of materials (BOM), design the electronic circuit board, and program the embedded software.
